The county is in its third year of providing fairgrounds upgrades and improvements, after meetings with community members. The improvements were mostly complete prior to fair week each year. They included expanding the breezeway entrance into the outdoor arena for improved crowd flow into events, a new stairway and additional 40 seats in the grandstands, a new audio system and speakers, replacing all stalls with 140 new ones (an increase of 40 stalls), new water lines, new animal wash stations, and electrical upgrades. Construction resumed after the fair on a rubber paver equestrian trail, a covered warm-up area behind the indoor arena that can accommodate more stalls, 14 new RV hookups, upgrading the Event Hall kitchen to function as a commercial and teaching kitchen, and remodeling the North Hall kitchen with similar upgrades.
