GARFIELD COUNTY, CO – The three-time GRAMMY Award-winning Nitty Gritty Dirt Band brings its All the Good Times: The Farewell Tour to the Garfield County Fair and Rodeo on Friday, August 8. Country music star David Nail gets things warmed up at the Garfield County Fairgrounds. Tickets are on sale June 13.

Formed in southern California in 1966, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band relocated to Colorado in the early 1970s and was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame in 2015. With strong ties to the Western Slope and the Roaring Fork Valley, the band’s Rifle stop on the farewell tour takes its storied career full circle.

“‘All The Good Times’ perfectly describes our career,” the band recently said. “Playing our music for Dirt Band fans all over the world has been an incredible experience for us. The most important part of that has been the connection to our audience — that beautiful communal give and take is like nothing else. That’s the very spirit we’ll be celebrating as we head into our farewell tour. We really look forward to seeing you folks. Good times will be had by all!”

The band’s legendary 1972 album, “Will the Circle be Unbroken” is certified platinum and reached number 4 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.

The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has entertained audiences with their top-shelf musicianship and timeless hits “Mr. Bojangles,” “Fishin’ in the Dark,” “An American Dream,” and many more. And now, the time has come for the band, which has carried a torch for American country and roots music, to say so long to the highways and byways they’ve crossed an unimaginable number of times throughout their career.

Nail remains true to himself

GRAMMY-nominated multi-platinum singer/songwriter David Nail comes to Rifle hot off a busy touring year in 2024. His “pull no punches” style and reflective songwriting have earned Nail a legion of die-hard fans.

“My philosophy has always been, I just hope to have a good enough year that I can have a next year while staying as true to myself as I possibly can,” he said.

Nail released his hit EP “Best of Me” in 2023, a follow-up to his smash albums “Bootheel,” “The Sound of a Million Dreams,” “I’m a Fire,” and “Fighter.” His cover of Bruce Cockburn’s “Pacing the Cage” is featured in the 2024 Vanity Fair documentary, “Take No Prisoners.”

Come on out to the Garfield County Fairgrounds for an amazing evening of music on August 8. Be sure to get your tickets early, as this is one show you won’t want to miss!
