GARFIELD COUNTY, CO â The three-time GRAMMY Award-winningâŻNitty Gritty Dirt Band brings its All the Good Times: The Farewell Tour to the Garfield County Fair and Rodeo on Friday, August 8. Country music star David Nail gets things warmed up at the Garfield County Fairgrounds. Tickets are on sale June 13.
Formed in southern California in 1966, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band relocated to Colorado in the early 1970s and was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame in 2015. With strong ties to the Western Slope and the Roaring Fork Valley, the bandâs Rifle stop on the farewell tour takes its storied career full circle.
ââAll The Good Timesâ perfectly describes our career,â the band recently said. âPlaying our music for Dirt Band fans all over the world has been an incredible experience for us. The most important part of that has been the connection to our audience â that beautiful communal give and take is like nothing else. That’s the very spirit we’ll be celebrating as we head into our farewell tour. We really look forward to seeing you folks. Good times will be had by all!â
The bandâs legendary 1972 album, âWill the Circle be Unbrokenâ is certified platinum and reached number 4 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart.
The Nitty Gritty Dirt BandâŻhas entertained audiences with their top-shelf musicianship and timeless hits âMr. Bojangles,â âFishin’ in the Dark,â âAn American Dream,â and many more. And now, the time has come for the band, which has carried a torch for American country and roots music, to say so long to the highways and byways theyâve crossed an unimaginable number of times throughout their career.
GRAMMY-nominated multi-platinum singer/songwriter David Nail comes to Rifle hot off a busy touring year in 2024. His âpull no punchesâ style and reflective songwriting have earned Nail a legion of die-hard fans.
âMy philosophy has always been, I just hope to have a good enough year that I can have a next year while staying as true to myself as I possibly can,â he said.
Nail released his hit EP âBest of Meâ in 2023, a follow-up to his smash albums âBootheel,â âThe Sound of a Million Dreams,â âIâm a Fire,â and âFighter.â His cover of Bruce Cockburnâs âPacing the Cageâ is featured in the 2024 Vanity Fair documentary, âTake No Prisoners.â
Come on out to the Garfield County Fairgrounds for an amazing evening of music on August 8. Be sure to get your tickets early, as this is one show you wonât want to miss!
